Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 Review

By Lars Guo

Published: October 16, 2024

Opening Message: Hi Folks! I hope you are doing well! This blog is going to be about the Samsung Galaxy Watch 6. This is just my personal opinion and thoughts. Please don’t take it as fact. I hope you enjoy it!

Background: Why Did I Get It?

I decided to get the Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 because I wanted to track my steps and improve my health. I’ve been using the Samsung Health app since September 30th, thanks to my uncle. My past experience with smartwatches hasn’t always been great. They often break or lose connection. But when they work, they’re extremely useful.

I initially hesitated to buy one since it’s quite expensive, but I finally purchased it on November 1st because I couldn’t keep my phone on at work anymore. I wanted something that would keep me connected while continuing my Samsung Health journey. Before buying, I visited Best Buy to compare models and get advice based on my needs.

Audience: This review is for anyone serious about improving their health and wants a smartwatch that can track activity, handle messages, and make calls. It’s especially ideal for Samsung phone users, since some features are exclusive to Samsung devices.

Pros: The Galaxy Watch 6 is excellent for tracking steps, calories, and distance. It delivers messages quickly, is lightweight and comfortable, and integrates seamlessly with Samsung Health. The body composition feature works well once you get used to it.

Cons: The blood oxygen and body composition sensors sometimes struggle to register properly. The watch occasionally lags in counting steps and can be a bit slow on startup. Additionally, certain features remain locked for non-Samsung phones.

Would I Buy It Again? Yes, I would buy it again because the pros outweigh the cons. However, I highly recommend getting a more comfortable watch strap than the default rubber one — Amazon offers better prices than in-store options.

Thoughts About the Watch: I initially thought I’d use the sleep tracker frequently, but I mainly use the watch for tracking steps, calories, water intake, and responding to messages. It’s been reliable, and I wear it daily. One tip: if you plan to buy one, wait for Black Friday to get an open box deal, but note that Best Buy won’t price match open box products.

Closing Message: I hope you enjoyed reading my thoughts on the Samsung Galaxy Watch 6! It was fun sharing what I like and how I feel about it overall. Stay safe, happy, and healthy! Have a wonderful day!
