Discover Washington DC: Travel Plans for April 10 to 14:

By Lars Guo

Opening message: Hi folks! I hope you all have been enjoying the blog posts. This one is covering my Washington DC trip that I took this year from April 10 - 14. I'll cover what I did that day, thoughts about the trip, highlights, and recommendations. I hope you enjoy it!

Day 1: I got to train and listened to music and watched videos. I had soup and salad for dinner. For breakfast, I had yogurt. While I was on the train, I did virtual gaming. For a snack, I had popcorn and cookies. There was nothing eventful that happened on the train.

Day 2: Today, I saw cherry blossoms and touched them. The reason why this was important is because I use the penname, Sakura for my Japanese name. I wanted to see and feel them in person. I took and posted photos. I also went to botanical gardens. I had Japanese food for dinner. This included zaru soba, mango mochi, and green tea ice cream. For a snack, I had an Easter bunny chocolate. This day was amazing because I achieved everything I wanted to do.

Day 3: For breakfast, I ate toast and coffee-hot chocolate. I snapped photos of the plushies. I played Pokemon Showdown and won a few matches. For dinner, I ate tomato soup and tortilla chips. I decided to take a chill day because I honestly had been going and doing this as my California trip was only a couple of days ago. It was good to relax.

Day 4: Today, I went to the cherry blossom festival. I got to see the parade and took a lot of amazing footage. There were performances and vendors. I shopped and found rare finds like the Fuecoco plush that I had never seen before. Another one was getting a nice Cherry Blossom festival jacket. I found the perfect keychain to go along with my jacket that I will convert into a necklace. Within the festival, there were events. I saw a cocktail contest. It was great seeing people there and I even got to chat with the winner. I handed out contact cards in hopes of making new connections. It was a very windy day so the host was performing magic tricks and I helped perform a magic trick. For dinner, I had steak salad for dinner. For breakfast, I had toast for breakfast.

Day 5: The final day of the trip was sad because it was such a great trip! I had toast for breakfast. I studied Japanese. I drank a smoothie at Jamba Juice called the "Strawberry Surf Rider". I chilled and relaxed. For dinner, I had chicken piccata. The ride was straightforward and nothing special.

Highlights:

  • Seeing the cherry Blossoms

  • Going to the festival

Recommendations: I would definitely take some time off before going to your next destination. Doing nearly back to back trips was difficult. It is every bit important to know the subway station and how to use it. Going to the Cherry Blossom festival is an amazing experience and definitely go if you can. Try to bring your own food because the food wasn't great. I would recommend that you see the Japanese cherry blossoms because they aren't easy to find. The flowers are beautiful.

Closing message: I hope you all enjoyed this post. The next one is going to be about budgeting. I am looking forward to having you all read the next one. Have a great day!
