Opening message: Hi folks! I hope you all are doing well! This is about my journaling journey and my thoughts on journaling. I hope you enjoy it!

Audience: This is perfect for anyone who can write sentences about their thoughts and feelings, especially those who are going through a lot. There are also things like gratitude journals as well which can also be good for people who need to write down what they are thankful for, which has its own audience.

High School: I started summer of 12th grade because I wanted to start recording my trips in Japanese. At first, my Japanese was awful and needed a lot of work. With that said, it is important to keep records so you can see how far I have come since starting my language learning journey for Japanese. To this day, I still use this journal. I got it in 6th grade and started to use it my senior year of high school. This journal was originally given because I was going to China and never used it.

College: My travel journal existed. I continued to document my trips. I did not use it for casual usage about my everyday college life until my senior year of college at Umass Amherst. Spring semester of senior year, I journal in Japanese and Spanish on what I did. This was because I was not taking any Japanese nor Spanish classes and I wanted to keep up with it.

Post College: In 2022, I was quite diligent on writing in journals writing practically everyday to the point that I was asking for journals for Christmas. While I did not completely stop, I did reduce the number of times I wrote. I did end up finishing one recently. 2023 and beyond, I generally just focused on travel which I wish I wrote more religiously overall.

Travel: I started off with just having a journal just dedicated to Japanese for traveling purpose. Then in 2019, I started to make one for Spanish. Eventually, I had one for German. In Between Spanish and German, I started to have one for Korean, but I dropped it since I felt I had enough to learn between Japanese and Spanish.

Goals for Journal: I had a few goals with writing in a journal. One includes talking about my goals, what I did, what I can improve on, and what I do well. I wanted to see my progress between when I started and now. It is also great to record your trips and really experience all of the good memories that I had.

Why journal?: It is a good way to get your thoughts down, record memories, reflect, and ask deep questions. It is good to see a record of why you felt the way you did. For languages in particular, it is a great way to see your progress.

Closing notes: I hope you all enjoyed the blog. I look forward to seeing you all in the next blog! Have a wonderful day! Stay safe, happy, and healthy!
