Opening message: Hi folks! I hope you have been enjoying these blog posts. Here are the newest blog on tablets. This is my third blog post on electronics in general. I hope this helps you determine whether you want to get yourself a tablet or not. If nothing else it is there just in case you can learn the pros, cons, etc to a tablet. Perhaps it will be in your future. Either way, there is no wrong choice on whether you want to get a tablet or not. This is there for food for thought and if you like one, great. If not, that is okay too.

History of my tablet Journey: My first tablet I ever had was the first generation iPad that I used during my time as a Bedford High School student. At some point, the teachers stated that they can see what we are doing on our tablets and it got it due to paranoia about my college tracking what I do on my laptop at Bryant. I got my own tablet so I can do whatever I want without having to worry about any of that and enjoy my own screen and having my computer be my own. Bryant had their own laptop program so we all got one for school which is something I had to give back since I did not stay at Bryant, unfortunately.

Lenovo tablet: This is my very first tablet. I like the large screen so I can watch anime and everything is super portable. I was a freshman in college when I got this tablet. The main shows I watched were Kuroko’s Basketball and Naruto. I had it until 2020 and this tablet was given to my mom after I got my new tablet mentioned in the next section.

Samsung S6 Lite Tablet: This is my new and newest tablet, according to the date of this article, that I use from 2020 to the present. I have been drawing my art and using those designs and selling them from 2020- 2022. I used this tablet for that and posted it on Facebook until that stopped working a while ago. It was the perfect backup when my phone needed to be charged. I used this tablet to make the designs that I sold on campus. The amount of art I sold with these designs was more than enough to pay for multiple Macbook pros to give you a good sense of how successful my art sales were thanks to my tablet. It was my best investment. It was a little smaller than the last tablet and it was very portable without being too small.

Samsung A7 Lite: I got this tablet on Christmas of 2021 for school. I had a very hard time connecting to the WiFi, participating in zoom meetings, etc and this tablet worked better for all of that. It was not useful for drawing. For school, it was great because the zoom calls came through perfectly. Back then I was going to school meetings about jobs. Since this tablet was no longer useful for school and I still have my Samsung s6 lite tablet, this tablet is now with my mom. She has been using it for watching movies and reading the newspaper on the go.

Favorite tablet that I had so far: Samsung S6 lite tablet is my best investment because it got me a lot of money by far. The Lenovo was the best investment for watching anime. I think the usefulness of the Samsung S6 lite was more useful because of its stylus it came with that was meant to be used specifically for that tablet. It worked well as well.

What do I like about tablets?: I like that they are portable, have a great screen size without the weight of a laptop, and so forth. I am happy that I can draw on tablets rather than trying to use a small phone screen or a laptop that can be glitchy from time to time. Tablets are light as well and very thin as well. It is perfect for fun and you can easily get touch screen games that you can’t get on a laptop. It is a lot nicer on the eye balls than your phone as well.

Downsides to a tablet: They are another device that needs to be charged. They do not have a keyboard which could also be seen as a perk as well. They are just an in between tool between a phone and a laptop and can be seen more as unnecessary than a laptop and a phone. With that said, that also could be seen as controversial. A tablet generally does not have ports the way a laptop has. Although things are changing as well. There are also 2-1 devices for a computer that can change into a tablet. Personally, a dedicated tablet is better than combining the two personally as someone who had a bad experience with a two in one device. The lifespan of a tablet is pretty short. It is still something like any electronic device is something you need to charge as well.

Target audience for a tablet: Tablets are good for people who want to have more fun than be productive. It is best for entertainment for sure. It can be productive with the right set up but has yet to put laptops out of business. Tablets are very portable and are the perfect computer travel companions. That will be helpful in terms of dealing with how heavy the product is as well. I think this is also good for kids who do not have smartphones, traveling adults, and people who simply want a mini computer that is bigger than their phones but not the full size laptop.

Should you buy it?: I think that boils down on whether you are looking for portability and entertainment overall. It depends on how you download and use it as well. If you are looking for serious productivity, I would not recommend it due to how many things there are that are super distracting. If you are looking for entertainment and a thin but not too big or small of a package, this is right for you. It does make a great sketch book as well if you have a proper stylus such as my 2020 Samsung S6 lite model. There is a Samsung s6 lite 2022 version but I wasn’t going to upgrade it that soon.

Best size for a tablet: I would recommend getting a tablet that is 10 inch screen in diameter or more because otherwise you are better off just bringing your smartphone. This is big enough that you can do everything you want and not have it be too small. It isn’t so big that it lost its portability either. Those are very important. At the end of the day, it is up to you. This is only my suggestion based on my experience with tablets (2011 - present).

What should you buy with your tablet?: For items to go along with your tablet that I would buy is definitely a tablet case, a screen protector, and only if you like writing/artist a stylus. Other things you could buy with this tablet is a wireless keyboard if you are adamant about having one for sure. I am not sure whether there are any additional things you can do to attach ports to your tablet because if so, maybe that.

End message: I hope you enjoy this tablet blog post! I look forward to having you all read the next one. Have a great day!
