Music Players: Their Role in Shaping Our Listening Experience:

Opening message: Hi Folks! I hope you all are doing well! I hope you enjoy this blog post about music players. This will cover my history of music players, pros, cons, why they are important, why they are dying, and an end message.

My Music Player history: My brother got an ipod nano when he was in eighth grade on Christmas. It made me really want to have one of my own. At some point, I started to save up for an ipod. I think I was aiming for the same one as my brother. On my 13th birthday, I got my wish for an ipod. A very special relative (you know who you are) won a silver ipod shuffle and gave it to me for my birthday. For the record I was and am still thankful for it. I brought my shuffle everywhere, especially walking around since I didn't have a smartphone at the time. The iPod shuffle sadly died when I was 20 years old.

Ipod shuffle: This very first ipod was amazing. It didn't have any buttons. The ipod was well made and everything was made of metal and no plastic cheapness. I did like the fact that I could play it while I was trying to sleep because it did not have any blue light. It was a great little device to keep my attention to listening to music instead of seeing notifications from left to right. I brought it almost everywhere. I used to walk to a lot of places and listen to music a lot when walking around. Because it didn't have a screen, I also did not have to buy a screen protector either. This iPod shuffle lasted me for roughly 7 years. Ultimately, I decided to get another Ipod due to the success and high usage of this one. My very first song that I ever got was a song called “Bring me to Life” by Evanescence. By far, this is the most portable music player I had to date. All of my other music players are bigger and have screens. This one was the size of a stick of gum and it was easy to carry it in my pocket and it is the easiest iPod to conceal as well.

Ipod Nano: My ipod nano was a product of wanting a screen for my iPod so I can easily control what songs that I wanted. I got a blue iPod nano since it was and is my favorite color. A different special someone (you know who you are) also gave me this for Christmas which I am also thankful for. I also took it on trips. I find it very relaxing and it is a lot easier to focus on the music much like my iPod shuffle. I liked that there were no distractions or anything. I took this iPod to Japan twice and loved it. I like its portability factor. While this iPod didn't die yet, I did get a new music player to prepare for the day that my iPod stops working. I would not say that I retired this iPod. I am getting all of the music from my old iPod and putting on my new music player, though I do plan on using it until it dies officially.

Fanvace MP3 player: It is a decent music Player that acts like an iPod touch. It has the internet, a play store, and pre-installed apps, etc. I like the audio quality on it. It does heat up pretty fast. Battery life is pretty good. It is easy to watch Youtube which is nice. It is my newest mp3 player and my first mp3 player that doesn't rely solely on headphones/earphones. I also plan on adding music that I did not have on my previous Ipods.

What are the pros?: It is an electronic that plays music well. It prevents your phone from draining its battery. It is easier to focus on the music. There are no notifications especially on music players that don't act like iPod touches. It is great for traveling.

What are the cons: You have to charge the device. It is a single purpose item. It is one more thing to carry.

What do I like about music players?: They are great to carry around for traveling. I like keeping music that is either impossible or difficult to get on hand for traveling. I like how I was able to remain focused on listening to music without notifications. I am happy that it won't drain my battery and it saves money in the long run. With my shuffle, I could play music while trying to sleep because of the no blue light.

Why are they important?: They are important because it is easier to focus on listening to music rather than having multiple notifications be a distraction. Sometimes you can depending on the music player can only listen to music without any blue light because there isn't a screen like the iPod Shuffle. They are great for travel especially when you don't want to drain your phone battery.

Why are they dying?: They are dying because people have other ways to play music and do other things in one device like our smartphones which are also portable. On top of that, there are music streaming services like Spotify that are affecting the popularity of music players.
