Why I Chose the Kindle Paperwhite: Insights and Observations:

Opening message: Hi folks! I hope you are doing well! I hope you enjoy the newest blog post on the Kindle. As a side note, all opinions and observations are my own. No way of reading is wrong. All I am saying is to not count e-readers out even during the times when we have technology that can do all in one device. I am not sponsored by Amazon. Please enjoy the blog.
Why did I get it?: I got the Kindle Paperwhite because it is less stressful to read on. It is also notably very portable and I like having things that have a single purpose such as an iPod/music player. I like how one can control the text size of the book. It is also great that you do not need to charge it all that often and you can pick and choose what books to read without bringing multiple books physically. I like bringing it on vacations and while I am waiting for people and events to start. It is a great benefit because it can also fit in a sling.
Perks/Pros: It has a long battery life, portable, no notifications going off, and helps you focus on just reading. Portability is a game changer because it also takes up less space in your house and is great for traveling. Having no notifications is a great way to stay more focused on a task at hand. The true benefit of Kindle Paperwhite and most other Kindles excluding the basic is there is a back light that also uses e-ink displays so it doesn't hurt your eyes and you do not need to rely on a secondary source of light especially at night when your roommate is trying to sleep. It is a great tool for reading at night or just dark spaces in general which is good. At least with the Kindle Paperwhite, most Kindles have a waterproof feature so you can read in the bathtub, ocean, etc. Also, the screen glare is not an issue either. It also keeps your place without the need of a bookmark. You can highlight text and take notes. There is a dictionary feature as well. You can change the text and the spacing of the text in the books. You can also subscribe to audible which is a audio book subscription service to listen to books on your Kindle as well. You can get books instantly.
Cons: There is a $20 fee to remove ads. You still have to charge it. Also, it is harder to skip around pages and chapters. It is still a screen and technically technology.
Would I buy it a Kindle if it dies?: Absolutely. It is a game changer for my reading. I find it easier to read. It is easy to bring during trips or short bursts of times when I am waiting to hang out with a friend of mine. I got lucky in getting a bundle with mine and there are ways to get the Kindle for cheaper as well. I think the pros outweigh the cons. When waiting for my phone to charge, it is one of my favorite times to bring out my Kindle.
Importance of E-readers: I think it is important to have a reading device that has a single purpose that allows you to focus on a single task without getting distracted. Having a device that is better for your eyes and being able to have that portability as well makes it absolutely worthwhile. Today’s world, we have so many stimulating items that have notifications that are flooding our interface and that does not really exist with e-readers. Even when we do not have notifications turned off, it is still absolutely difficult to not turn them on. It takes less discipline to have an e reader in general for that reason alone.
Do I see the kindle be used to this day or is it outdated?: As a matter of fact, as a former college student, I saw a few people reading on an e-reader. During my time at a craft beer and food restaurant called "Revolution Hall", I also saw people read on an e-reader. I think these are here to stay and I think it would be a shame if these were discontinued because there are people who benefit from such devices myself included for that matter.
Recommending the Kindle or just e-readers in general: I would absolutely recommend e-readers to people who love to read, read when traveling, need to get back into reading, and those who are interested in replacing their phone for a solo use reading device. This would also be good for students as well as students who read a lot. E-readers are perfect for those people who want to get their books quickly and do not want to pay for shipping fees. People who have difficulty seeing text properly and need the books to be formatted differently would appreciate this device as well.

Closing notes: Anyway, I hope you like this blog about the Kindle. Of course, you have plenty of options to choose something different from a Kindle and there are other brands of e-readers and devices for such. While this blog is about the Kindle, there is absolutely nothing wrong with just going for a physical book or audio book as well. It is a matter of taste and each type of reading device/book has a purpose and I hope they all stay around as well. Whatever helps you read more is the way to go. Just do not count out e-readers. Anyway, have a great day! Stay tuned for the next blog post! As a side note, I am traveling this week and next week so the next blog posts might not be out until the following week. It is likely going to be about my California trip and Washington DC trips.
