Opening Message: Hi Folks! I hope you all are doing well! This is the fourth day of my Japan trip in 2019. Just a reminder, this is just my experiences and should not be taken fully as facts and that people’s experiences may vary. Some of this might be outdated as well since it happened so long ago as well. Previous days will be shown in the next section called Blog Links about the trip below. I hope you enjoy it!

Tips and Notes for July 14th for Japan:
Breakfast at Hotel Vischio: It had a great breakfast selection. It had a lot of variety such as fish, vegetable sticks, American food, green tea cake, rice porridge, and so forth. I would recommend that you try as many items as possible. Sleeping at this hotel was very comfortable. The lobby is quite spacious and has a nice clean modern appearance.
Hotel cleaning is around 10 am so the lobby is a great place to spend time while waiting. There is even a hotel inspector that makes sure your room is cleaned properly as well. There are all kinds of amenities, but check out the laundry area. The machines have both the capacity to do washing and drying in one and no need for detergent for your laundry.

Purchasing souvenirs: I would recommend that you keep prices low and the weight and size of your souvenirs down because the fees of going over 50 pounds on an international flight is costly. Also they have to be able to fit in your suitcase. Book off has some amazing bargains on anime stuff. Books are pretty heavy so keep the amount of those low. I got one manga for 100 yen = 1 US dollar.
Kyoto International Manga Museum: It is absolutely amazing. There is so much detail and work that goes into it. There are a lot of impressive art and history about manga and the building itself. There are places to go to read manga. These days, manga comes in different languages such as English, Korean, Chinese, and so forth. I'd say for all of you anime fans, artists, and art fans, you should go. You will learn a lot. Most of the info is written in Japanese and English, but there are parts that are in just Japanese. Maps come in English and Japanese. Unfortunately, due to the museum's rules and copyright issues, you can't take any photos and/or videos of the museum. It is even true in the gift shop that photos are prohibited.
Lunch: My brother and I went to a sushi place called Musashi in Kyoto. The sushi was served on a conveyor and certain plates mean different things such as with and/or without wasabi, etc. The sushi pieces were big. There were a lot of them that were amazing, but I really enjoyed the grilled corn sushi. The variety of sushi offered was huge. They also served green tea and ice cream, which were good. I chose to have green tea ice cream and liked it.
I would recommend that you walk around and you'll find all kinds of shops, food places, and so forth.
Godiva: My brother and I saw a Godiva store while walking for fun. One thing you have to note is that your American Godiva rewards card doesn't work in Japan. Outside the store there is a giant chocolate beverage statue which I took some pictures of. Both my brother and I got ice cream, which was amazing. The ice cream was served like hoodies in America only classier. There are a lot more flavors offered. I would take the opportunity to take pictures with the chocolate beverage statue because you can.
General tips about Kyoto and touristy things to do: Kyoto and Tokyo are pretty rainy. The good news is that the rain is warm. A poncho would be smart to have and use, but my brother and I didn't feel the need to and were a little bit too lazy to do something about it. They do sell umbrellas. Kyoto is pretty muggy, but today was perfect temperature. It was warm but you aren't sweating. Take lots of pictures and back them up in a place such as your computer, Google drive, and so forth. Take public transportation as it is cheaper and clean. The atmosphere differs from America in that way.
British pub in Japan (Hub): I don't think I've ever been to a British pub ever. You order your food at the bar. The beverages are given to you immediately, but the goods are served at your table. Yes, a table. They exist in a pub. They give you a number stand thing and the server finds you and delivers you your food. Beverage sizes are about the size of an American beverage. The food portions are very small. My fried gnocchi was very small and probably the size of bonbons. In this pub credit cards are accepted.
Closing Message: I hope you all enjoyed this blog on my fourth day in Japan 2019. I look forward to you all reading the next blog. Have a great day!
