Welcome Message:Hello, everyone! I hope you’re doing well! This post explores creativity, its importance, how I use it, and what happens when it’s stifled. I’ll also share my favorite creative projects, discuss the most successful ones, and highlight what schools can do to encourage creative thinking. Feel free to use this blog to support your own efforts to promote creativity.

Importance of Creativity: Creativity is crucial in our world. Many groundbreaking scientific discoveries and inventions, from light bulbs to smartphones, were born from thinking outside the box. Artists and creators also push boundaries with their work, demonstrating the power of creative thought. In language learning, creativity is vital, as people have diverse ways of grasping concepts. The one-size-fits-all approach often used by traditional educators doesn’t always work for everyone. Creativity also offers a mental break from rigid thinking, allowing our minds to explore new possibilities and ideas. It’s this same creative thinking that will help us address future global challenges, from finding new habitable places to saving the planet. In essence, creativity is the key to discoveries that could usher in a new era for all living things.
Consequences of Killing Creativity: Suppressing creativity would be detrimental to society. Without it, we risk losing the innovations that improve our lives and solve problems. We may no longer have the products and services we’ve come to depend on, and without creative minds, fresh solutions will remain elusive. Creativity allows us to imagine, experiment, and create new ideas, and when we lose that ability, we also lose the potential for growth and progress. Moreover, creativity plays a crucial role in learning, as it helps individuals connect with content in unique ways.
My Usage of Creativity: I use my creativity in various aspects of my life. When learning languages, I find fun, innovative ways to study. I also express myself through art—designing mini rooms and creating new projects. In 2022, my creative designs helped me fund five trips, teaching me valuable lessons about business. Creativity also plays a big role in food. For instance, I once created a Fuecoco-inspired drink—combining cranberry pear vinegar, raspberry jam, and whipped cream. It was an enjoyable experiment and a great way to relax and think outside the box.
Favorite Creative Projects: One of my favorite creative projects was a study I created from a cardboard box in winter 2019. Inspired by Harry Potter’s cozy library, I designed a little space for my Yugioh plushies. Another memorable project was a pumpkin I created in high school. Instead of following a traditional design, I chose to make it resemble an island, and it remains one of my favorite ceramic works. My Instagram photography also holds a special place. I love thinking outside the box when positioning my plushies and adding digital effects to my photos. I’ve even made Japanese comics and a book to make studying fun! One project I’m especially proud of was an anime exhibit I created for my American museum class in spring 2021. The exhibit included my original manga covers, artwork, and even Japanese language elements. My friends and I also created obstacle courses for my dog, Taz, helping him exercise both his body and mind. Teaching Taz tricks like “high five” and “reach” was another example of creativity in action. Finally, I was determined to use Fuecoco in a competitive Pokemon Showdown match, and this support Pokémon became a vital part of my team’s success.
Most Successful Creative Projects: My most successful creative projects include my Instagram photography and several school-based projects, where I received great feedback and grades. The study I built also stands out as a successful creative endeavor. Teaching Taz how to “reach” and stimulating his mind with fun activities was another rewarding accomplishment.
What Schools Need to Do to Encourage Creativity: Schools must create environments that encourage creative thinking. Instead of focusing solely on rote learning, they should provide opportunities for students to think critically, experiment, and create. Projects like storytelling, art, and theater foster a love of creativity and can inspire new ways of thinking. By encouraging these types of activities, schools can help students develop skills that will serve them throughout their lives.
Hope for the Future: While there has been progress in fostering creativity, I hope we continue to support and celebrate it on a larger scale. Teachers, mentors, peers, and parents must recognize the value of creative thinking in shaping the future. Creativity has the potential to solve complex problems and bring new possibilities to life. I believe that embracing creativity can turn the impossible into the possible.
End Message: How can you personally encourage creativity in the world? What do you think would happen if creativity were celebrated everywhere? Take a moment to reflect on the immense value creativity brings to our lives. I hope this blog has inspired you to think more deeply about the role of creativity in shaping a better future.
