Opening message: Hi Folks! I hope you all are doing well! Here is the blog about my California trip. It will cover what I did, fun facts, and some tips.

Day 1: Today, I woke up early for my flight. I had 2 hard boiled eggs. I would recommend that you eat a lot before the trip because it is a long flight from Boston. I went through airport security and didn't have to separate liquids or take out my electronics. If you do take an electronic that is a tablet size or bigger, you do need to take it out. I studied Japanese and did some mini footage of the plushies and took photos. I drank a Vanilla Creme Frappuccino and a White Mocha Latte at Starbucks. I listened to music. I went to Tsujitas for tsukemen with my brother for dinner. Just as a reminder, tsukemen is the same as dipping noodles. I did some shopping. I watched videos.

Day 2: For breakfast, I had toast and oatmeal. I journalled in Japanese, Spanish, and German. I ate tsukemen leftovers and drank hot chocolate too. I went to Little Tokyo, Korea town, China Town, and city hall. Little Tokyo captures the spirit of Japanese culture. You can find a lot of rare finds there that you can't find elsewhere at times. Chinatown is the same way for sure. There is not as much though. I found what I was looking for. I snapped photos. For dinner, my brother and I had Korean barbecue.

Day 3: I had toast for breakfast. I slept in. My brother and I went to a soda store and Santa Monica. I got to make my own soda which had a s'mores flavor. That was unique and you can't do it all of the time. We walked down 3rd street. For lunch, I went to Tsujitas. For dinner, we had hot dogs at Santa Monica. They were not that bad. We used to be able to find danger dogs but it looks like there is not much anymore. Danger dogs are hot dogs wrapped in bacon and all kinds of sauces like mayo, mustard, ketchup, and so forth.

Day 4: I went to Little Tokyo by myself. I bought rare things. I snapped photos and chilled. I had my last day of tsukemen.

Final day: I woke up early and had toast. I studied some Japanese and got to chill. I went to the airport. Before that happened I took a video of my hotel room and finished packing. I went to McDonald's to enjoy a vanilla iced coffee and a small fries. It was delicious. The ice coffee was surprisingly good. The french fries were super freshly made and I am glad we went. I enjoyed watching anime. I enjoyed listening to music.

Tips:

  1. Get through security quickly

  2. Pay attention to your items, flight time, etc.

  3. Make sure you have about 2-3 hours of time before your flight. It is better to get through security and make sure you are at your gate.

  4. Make sure you eat a good breakfast.

  5. Make sure you have snacks.

  6. Do not carry liquids before security.

  7. Use your time wisely.

  8. Have a power bank.

  9. Get enough rest.

  10. Don't pack in too much.

  11. Make your own soda at the soda store.

  12. Relax and enjoy the trip.

  13. Know Spanish because there are some people who can only speak that language.

  14. Be able to rely on yourself.

  15. Make sure you buy your rare items or items that you like that are cheaper in the area.

  16. Have a flexible schedule.

  17. Get your food and drinks before going to the airport because it is cheaper that way.

  18. Have apps that allow you to send money electronically such as Venmo.

Fun facts:

  1. My hotel room situation was a huge surprise to me when it came to what kind of area I was getting. It was a king size bed suite.

  2. Spending a day mainly in my hotel suite allowed me to figure out how much space I needed generally for what is important to move out.

  3. Finding rare items in Little Tokyo was a surprise to me even though it was likely going to be there.

  4. I never took public transportation in LA by myself until the end of my trip and successfully got to my destinations with very few issues.
