Opening Message: Are you planning a trip to Boston, MA, or just looking for some fun spots to hang out with friends or family? Whether it's your first time in the city or you're a regular visitor, this guide will help you explore some of the best places around. These are my personal recommendations, but of course, everyone has their own favorite spots, so feel free to discover your own hidden gems!

Food Places:
Santouka
If you're a ramen lover, Santouka is a must-visit! With locations around Boston, including Harvard Square and Newbury Street, you’re never too far from a warm, delicious bowl of ramen. I personally recommend the dipping noodles—something you don’t often find on the East Coast. It’s one of my go-to spots whenever I'm in Boston, and it never disappoints.
Jonquils
Looking for a sweet treat? Head over to Jonquils, located on Newbury Street. This charming spot serves up pastries that are as beautiful as they are delicious. One standout is the apple-shaped dessert that reveals a tasty apple filling inside. For drinks, I always go for the green tea matcha—refreshing and full of flavor. Of course, there’s a variety of other drinks and desserts, but those are my personal favorites.
Georgetown Cupcake
For a delightful cupcake experience, check out Georgetown Cupcake. It’s a great spot to indulge in a variety of cupcakes, and my friend and I always make an effort to stop by when we're in town. Whether you're grabbing a sweet treat to go or enjoying one on-site, you're in for a treat!
Shops to Visit:
Anime Zakka
Located on Newbury Street, Anime Zakka is a treasure trove for anime fans. Right across from the original Newbury Comics, this store specializes in rare and unique anime merchandise that’s hard to find elsewhere on the East Coast. Though it may look small from the outside, it’s surprisingly spacious once you step inside.
Newbury Comics
Speaking of Newbury Street, don’t miss the original Newbury Comics! It’s an iconic Boston shop, and it’s cool to see the very first one. It’s a large store, especially by Boston standards, and offers everything from comics and collectibles to music and pop culture merchandise.
The Fairy Shop
If you're a Harry Potter fan, The Fairy Shop is a must-see. While it’s a small shop, it’s packed with one-of-a-kind items that every wizard or witch will appreciate. It’s a quirky, magical store you won’t find anywhere else.
Events & Activities:
Duck Boat Tour
Looking for a fun and unique way to see Boston? Try the Duck Boat Tour! It's best experienced in a group, and there's even a chance you could drive the boat. I’ve done it several times, but the most memorable experience was in 2019, during my sister’s bachelorette party. It was a blast! Pro tip: Book your tickets ahead of time.
Boston Public Library
For a relaxing afternoon, visit the Boston Public Library. It’s a beautiful spot for tea and pastries, and everything on the menu is both fancy and delicious. Just be sure to book in advance, as they don’t typically take walk-ins. I had the chance to visit during my sister’s bachelorette party, and it was a great way to unwind.
The Museum of Fine Arts
Art lovers will appreciate the Museum of Fine Arts. With collections from Africa, the U.S., Asia, Europe, and beyond, it’s a place where you can experience art from all over the world. It’s the perfect destination for anyone seeking a cultural and artistic experience.
The Museum of Science
This is an interactive and educational experience for people of all ages. The Museum of Science is home to fascinating exhibits on geography, anatomy, and more. If you’ve got kids (or if you’re a kid at heart), don’t miss the Omni Theater, where the shows never repeat. I’ve been going here since childhood, and it’s always a fun time.
Sports Events:
Boston Red Sox Game
If you’re in Boston during baseball season, catching a game at Fenway Park is a must. Watching the Red Sox play live is a quintessential Boston experience. Just remember that it’s seasonal, so be sure to book your tickets in advance.
Patriots Football
Football fans, don’t miss the chance to see the New England Patriots in action during the fall. It’s an exciting experience to watch them live at Gillette Stadium, but be sure to buy your tickets ahead of time—these games can sell out fast!
Revolution Soccer
For soccer enthusiasts, catch the New England Revolution at Gillette Stadium. Like the Patriots, you’ll need to purchase tickets ahead of time, and their games are also a fall season activity.
Boston Celtics Basketball
If basketball is more your style, head to a Boston Celtics game in the winter. The energy at the TD Garden is electric, and it’s always a fun experience to watch one of the NBA’s most iconic teams play live. Tickets for these games sell out quickly, so plan ahead.
