A Comprehensive Review of Sophie Scholl's Final Days:

Opening message: Hi Folks! I hope you are doing well! This blog is about a movie called “Sophie Scholl: Final Days” which is set in Germany during World War II. This is about a group of Munich college students who formed their group known as the White Rose. They were spreading leaflets telling people what is really going on and not to listen to the propaganda that Hitler created. They show the consequences of doing this in Germany. I will try not to spoil the whole movie, but there might be a few spoilers.

Audience: The audience are people who are interested in learning about World war II, history majors, anthropology majors, psychology majors, sociology majors, and older students/adults. People must be able to handle the sadness.

Pros: The movie is well put together and is accurate to the time period. It is in German and English. The props used are accurate to the time period. The acting is spectacular. It also did a great job conveying the emotions and the fear instilled for the White Rose members and the general population and how they felt about the situations. It really showed how mature the people are and their philosophies and their convictions towards their philosophies and never wavering from their goals.

Cons: The con is that it is sad and not uplifting. I felt sorry for those people and yet admired them to keep with their philosophies as good people even when their lives were on the line. They were brave and selfless.

How did the movie influence me: This movie influenced me into wanting to learn German. I managed to pick up some words in German. I got through some basic sentences. It also makes me quite interested in going to Munich to see the White Rose museums.

Would I recommend it?: I would say yes with the condition that you would not show this to children and anyone who would experience any kind of trauma about World War II. Anything that would set these feelings off and would cause emotional trauma should not be watched. I would say the cut off age wise would be high school aged students starting around 15 years old. 14 would be the minimum if they are exceptional.

Closing message: I hope you all enjoy the blog post about the movie and that you would watch it. I look forward to you all reading the next blog. Have a great day!
